After finishing up my latest natural face primer, I did not get a new one for a while. I just couldn’t decide which organic primer I should go for, so I kept postponing the decision. It wasn’t that I couldn’t get by without it, but I did miss having this makeup staple on hand. What I seek from primers is working with my skin to smooth it over and avoid dry patches, as well as prolonging my CC cream wear. So, when I saw that there’s a new primer with massive promises to hydrate the skin, I knew I had to try it. I am talking about RMS Beauty Re-Evolve Radiance Locking Primer ($40/£37), which is one of the newest releases in RMS Beauty clean skincare / makeup range.
The Re Evolve Radiance Locking Primer comes in a refillable 30ml package. The tube has a retractable top with a pump coming out when you turn the lid. Very clever! The primer has a list of lovely skin-beneficial ingredients, but the ones highlighted are:
– Tightenyl™: described as an active ingredient derived from biotechnology research to firm, tone, and smooth skin;
– Hyaluronic Acid: of course, it is a hydrating primer after all;
– Vegetable Squalane: promotes oil production balance and improves skin elasticity;
– Eggplant Fruit Extract: helps protect and improve the skin barrier (very handy in the cold season).
The texture of the primer is somewhere in-between of a cream and a gel. It feels moisturizing upon application, but gets absorbed by the skin, leaving a soft and slight sheen finish. Don’t get fooled by the word “radiance” in the title. The word is often overused with sparkly, glittery products. However, there are no sparkles in this primer, just a healthy skin glow. I also noticed that it does prevent dry patches, but as for extended longevity to my foundation wear, I might have to wait for warmer weather to see if it makes any difference.
What’s your favorite primer? Have you tried this new release from RMS Beauty?
