My newest purchase is Physician’s Formula’s Argan Oil Primer Mist from its Argan Wear range. The Primer comes in a beautiful glass spray bottle and contains ingredients such as pure argan oil and organic coconut water. The primer mist doesn’t come cheap and costs $14.95 / £12 for 30ml, but because it calls itself “a multi-tasking miracle” and promises to moisturize, tone, prime, brighten, protect, and treat the skin, I was intrigued. However, I ended up using this product only twice, and I’ll explain why later in this review.
This is a bi-phase primer mist, so, in order, for water and oils combine, you need to shake the bottle well before application. Another reason why you need to shake the spray bottle really good is that the primer will smell strongly of alcohol if you don’t. Now, I’m not concerned about using products with alcohol in the ingredient lists, because many organic beauty brands I love add it to their products (i.e. Dr. Hauschka). However, there’s something unappealing about that alcohol scent. After you shake the bottle, the scent comes out completely different: over the top sweet scent, which lingers a while after you spray the product on your face.
The very first thing I noticed when I applied this 2-in-1 primer mist is that it made my skin super dewy and soft. What a great start, isn’t it? I always let primers sit on the skin for a couple of minutes before continuing with makeup, so I did the same with this one. A couple of minutes has passed, and my face started to feel uncomfortable and slightly tingly. OK, I thought, maybe this will stop. My skin didn’t look irritated or anything, so for the sake of the review, I continued with the makeup. My foundation glided on effortlessly without accentuating any dry patches and going cakey. I could also see a beautiful glow underneath the foundation from the primer mist. I noticed that it helped my makeup to stay in place throughout the day, so if I would only judge the primer mist on that, it would be a lovely beauty product. However, the reason why I only used it a couple of times is that my skin felt irritated, uncomfortable, and tight all day. My makeup looked perfect, but my skin felt terrible. Even after removing makeup and applying one of my nourishing night-time serums, I could feel the tightness on my cheeks and forehead for a while. What a disappointment!

Have you tried this primer mist? What were your impressions?
Interesting. Never heard of this brand. But not sure it is a product I would go for…..x
It’s a US brand (haven’t seen it in Europe). I like a few other of their products (i.e. mascaras), but this product was a huge disappointment.
I also used this and felt the same tight sensation and even a slight burning feeling. I am a bit disappointed because I LOVE LOVE this brand and their beauty products to which I own many. This is a great review!
