What would you say if I told you there’s a little tube of vegan, cruelty-free deodorant that you only need to reapply every 3 to 7 days? Moreover, you can shower, exercise, and go about your usual routine without worrying about reapplying it after each intensive activity. If I were you, I’d say this is amazing AND unbelievable at the same time. After hearing all these claims, how could I not test it to see if this is all true? But let’s start from the beginning.
Meet nuud. Kind of a deodorant, kind of an antiperspirant. It’s a super concentrated vegan armpit cream that works by neutralizing bacteria with micro silver and that way reducing or completely eliminating unwanted odors. Is the nuud deodorant safe? The answer is a solid yes. Nuud does not contain aluminum or other irritating ingredients that many conventional deodorants use, including alcohol or parabens (who still uses those anyway?). Also, they do not add any fragrances to their products, which is why the cream has no scent.
Another thing worth mentioning is the recyclable packaging. Not only nuud vow not to use microplastics in their products, but also chose a 100% recyclable sugarcane tube in a biodegradable cardboard box. Since it’s extremely concentrated, you’re getting at least 6 weeks of use out of this tiny 20ml tube. I was skeptical of this myself, but it’s true. We’re all unique so this mostly depends on your sweat and body odor levels, but you don’t need much of the cream to cover your armpits.
Now, let’s talk about something you really came here for – to know if it works. It does. But not on the first try. During the first few weeks, it did not work for me at all. I expected to sweat but did not expect to stink like I did. It was fine on the first days right after application, but the second days were terrible. I would wake up smelling like a tiny rodent died in my armpit, not even kidding. The smell was gone after the morning shower, but back by lunchtime. You probably can imagine how glad I was that I worked from home.
So after about a week of testing, I was ready to give it all up, but then I did some research to find that you need to give some time for your microbiome to adjust to the change. It might take a couple of weeks, but since it all depends on your personal microbiome, you never know until you start. I decided to give it another few weeks, but combine it with my usual deodorant for the meantime. Worked like a charm! After a couple more weeks, I am now applying nuud every 3 days, and can reduce the use of my usual deodorant to a few times per week instead of daily usage! I’ll continue to use nuud to see if the situation becomes even better; however, I think I’ll need to reorder a new tube if I want to continue.
All in all, it’s a very promising product, I’ll keep you updated. And if you’re interested in trying it out for yourself, you can get nuud armpit cream here. It retails for $15.99 for a 20ml tube + free worldwide shipping.
