My Holy Grail Product: Dr. Hauschka Revitalizing Day Cream Review

Dr Hauschka Revitalising Day CreamWith warmer weather approaching, I feel the need to change my skincare to lighter products. However, winter left my skin feeling dry, so I remembered my long-time best friend – Dr. Hauschka Revitalising Day Cream. You can see in some of my empties posts (here and here) that I was using this day cream before. Dr. Hauschka has recently changed its product packaging and some of the titles, so that’s how Moisturizing Day Cream became Revitalizing Day Cream.

Every time a company I like updates its packaging, I can’t help but feel a bit nervous that it’s going to completely change ingredient formulas too (Lavera did this to its entire range). Fortunately for me, this didn’t happen with Dr. Hauschka. The new packaging looks lovelier and fresher but Revitalising Day Cream is the same amazing face cream I fell in love with two years ago.

The cream feels very light, and, um, wet! It’s how I can describe the consistency best. Therefore, it’s easy to apply and sinks in pretty fast. I like the new name, I feel like it reveals more of what this cream does to the skin. Of course, it gives moisture, but the skin also feels revitalized and refreshed after using it.

See the ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Anthyllis Vulneraria Extract, Apricot (Prunus Armeniaca) Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca), Alcohol, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis Virginiana) Extract (Hamamelis Virginiana), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil (Prunus Dulcis), Olive Oil (Olea Europaea), Carrot (Daucus Carota) Extract (Daucus Carota), Peanut Oil (Arachis Hypogaea), Triticum Vulgare (Wheat Germ) Oil (Triticum Vulgare), Hypericum Perforatum Extract, Glycerin, Calendula (Calendula Officinalis) Flower Extract, Lecithin, Jojoba Oil (Buxus Chinensis), Fragrance (Parfum), Limonene (component of natural essential oils), Linalool (component of natural essential oils), Farnesol (component of natural essential oils), Benzyl Benzoate (component of natural essential oils), Geraniol (component of natural essential oils), Citronellol (component of natural essential oils), Benzyl Salicylate (component of natural essential oils), Citral (component of natural essential oils), Algin (component of natural essential oils), Xanthan. BDIH Certified. Vegan.

Despite the fact that I love this moisturizer to bits, there are two things I would like to be different: first, I must say this is a product much more suitable for warmer seasons rather than colder. I need heavier, richer creams in winter as this feels just not enough for the dry and dehydrated skin. Second, I am not sure why, but I use up this cream super fast. Way quicker than any other face cream I ever used. The 30 ml bottle lasts, like, two or three weeks (four weeks if I use it VERY sparingly, but this almost never happens). However, it’s pros outweigh its cons, so I keep repurchasing it.

Revitalising Day Cream is available online at stores like Love Lula, Feelunique, and other Dr. Hauschka stockists for $26/£21.
