In my eyes, using organic, natural skincare is a form of self-love. Not only does it take care of your current skin needs, but it protects and cares for the skin in the long run as well. I am so happy to review LYKKEGAARD – a luxurious, certified organic skincare from Denmark. Nothing gets me more excited than testing out a new skincare brand and loving their products! If you’ve been reading my reviews for some time, you know that this is not what happens all the time, and I am transparent with my opinion (good or bad) about any product I try. Let’s start with the review, shall we?
REFRESHING FACIAL CLEANSING FOAM | After a continuous struggle with oils cleansers, I decided to stop tormenting myself and just use what I like, what my skin likes – foam cleansers. Nothing beats the feeling of that unwanted dirt accumulated on your skin during the day, getting scrubbed off and leaving the skin bare and happy. Also, no more struggling with removing makeup (aka panda eyes). I occasionally test a cream cleanser or two once in a while, but foam cleansers are what I live for.
This Refreshing Facial Cleansing Foam is excellent. The key ingredients are Nordic Oat, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, and Nordic Cotton. I had to google about nordic cotton, though, because I’ve never seen this ingredient used in skincare before. Apparently, this is a conditioning ingredient that doesn’t allow the skin to dry out and adds softness. I like the cleanser a lot; I’ve never had a problem with it being overly drying or leaving my skin uncomfortable.
MICELLAR 3 IN 1 FACE TONIC | Created to gently cleanse the skin and remove makeup as well as refresh the skin. It can be used in combination with the Refreshing Cleansing Foam as a second step (for toning), but it’s also great on its own. I usually choose the cleansing foam in the evening and this Micellar 3in1 Toner in the morning – works perfectly! Clean skin is healthy skin, so never underestimate a good skin cleansing routine.
The key ingredients in this Micellar Toner are similar to the Refreshing Foam. I wouldn’t say the Toner is moisturizing per se, but it also doesn’t dry my skin out, which is absolute bliss.
AGE GRACEFULLY HYALURONIC ACID POWER CREAM | OK, with the previous two products I didn’t mention the packaging. It was intentional because I just wanted to address it in one place. Minimalist packaging is my soft spot. It hands down beats all the shiny, colorful bottles you might find out there on shop shelves. However, packaging also needs to be functional, so I was bummed to find out that the Age Gracefully face cream pump does not work (I’m pretty sure it was a one-time fluke because other product packaging works perfectly well). But me being stubborn, I squeezed out and used a decent amount of cream by almost dismantling the bottle. Judging from the amount I managed to get out, the cream smells divine! It also seems nourishing and overall a lovely face cream.
Have you ever heard about Lykkegaard? If not, definitely check out their website and online store!
