I’ve tried more than a couple natural solid shampoos in the past, all from different brands. But something just didn’t stick. Some of them were too messy, others just didn’t do a good job at the only job they were supposed to do – cleaning my hair. This is why I almost lost hope and intentionally stopped buying solid shampoos myself. However, given a chance, I’m more than happy to try this Lamazuna Solid Shampoo, which came in LoveLula’s last subscription beauty box.
The Lamazuna Solid Shampoo for normal hair comes in a colorful fully recyclable cardboard box. It has the form of a French pastry canelé, which is absolutely adorable. The scent is a mix of orange, cinnamon, and star anise and feels very festive. I imagine it would make a wonderful Christmas gift as well, so keep that in mind if there’s someone among your friends who wants to try a solid shampoo.
The instructions on how to use this solid shampoo are the same as for any other solid shampoo out there. Wet your hair, rub the shampoo in until it lathers, rinse it off. However, as with other solid shampoos, I struggled to get that lather. I rubbed and rubbed. Then rinsed it off and rubbed some more. Then put some conditioner as usual, and let it air dry. To be honest, I did not expect much. But it turned out just fine! My roots were clean but not dried out. Moreover, my hair was extremely soft!
Lamazuna promises that one bar lasts as long as two shampoo bottles. As for now, with the amount of rubbing I have to do for my hair to get it clean, I am not buying this claim. Overall, I appreciate the experience, but it seems that solid shampoos aren’t for me. However, if you haven’t tried a solid shampoo, you should find out for yourself, and Lamazuna’s solid shampoos are a great starting point.
