I noticed recently that all my bold-colored lipsticks usually come from various subscription beauty boxes. I don’t really use red or other bold-colored lipstick that often, so I don’t see the need to buy them. However, the ones I do receive, like this Johnny Concert Maudit Liquid Lipstick, I tend to keep and use on some special occasions or outings. This one actually came from the god-knows-which Petit Vour subscription box.
The Maudit Lipstick ($25 – £18) is described as a velvet matte, long-lasting lipstick. It is a fast-drying lipstick, so you’ll need to work with it quickly. I like the short applicator; however, a lip brush is necessary for a bold color like the Mad Moiselle. A pointed one, desirably. Correction is not the easiest thing to do with this lipstick. The shade Mad Moiselle is a stunning vampy merlot. It is definitely a show-stopper!
Another thing is how it feels on the lips. We all know long-lasting lipsticks, despite their promises, feel drying. It’s impossible to create a lipstick that nourishes the lips but also stays put in one place for a prolonged period of time. It needs to dry out quickly and completely. Otherwise, it will create a mess everywhere. So the Maudit Lipstick still feels dry (I don’t understand how some reviews say it doesn’t). But it’s not to the point you want to scratch your lips to get rid of it. The lipstick settles quite comfortably and would be great for some special occasions.
To remove the lipstick, you should use an oil remover (any oil works). A removal with any other cleanser will result in a lot of pointless rubbing, anxiousness, and red residue all around the lips. Use the oil; it cleanses the lipstick away in a matter of seconds.
Here’s my attempt to showcase the lipstick in a very dreamy way 😀
All in all, I’m extremely impressed by the Maudit lipstick. It’s a perfect choice if you’re looking for such a product.
Do you use long-lasting lipsticks? Have you found the one that does not feel drying on the lips?
