Hot Or Not | REN Skincare Insta Firm Beauty Shot Range

Anti-aging skincare products are this huge mystery to me because until now I’ve never chosen a product specifically for my fine lines. I don’t have a lot of wrinkles, but being in my thirties it is only natural to have first signs of aging appearing. I’m absolutely over the moon to review REN Instant Firming Beauty Shot* and Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift* and see if these two are really living up to their promises to smooth expression lines. REN Instant Firming Beauty Shot (30ml/£42) isn’t a newly released product, but in these 5 years [or so], it kept standing strong in the front row of the most raved green skincare products for aging skin. So there must be a reason for this, right? The truth is simple – it works. And not only that – the results are beyond amazing. No wonder it is called a natural botox in a bottle.

The Beauty Shot is a clear gel serum that comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. The consistency of the serum is extremely thick, but the skin absorbs the serum instantaneously. It’s important not to rub the serum into the skin but rather gently pat it in. Otherwise, it will flake. Also, a good moisturizer is a must after this serum as it tends to tighten the skin and make it feel uncomfortable.

The serum was formulated to instantly firm, tighten, and lift skin. In the short term, it’s a natural instant filler for your fine lines. I have a couple of those on my forehead and wanted to see if it would soften them, and sure enough – it did! They are far less pronounced and visible. This doesn’t mean it would erase your wrinkles or make your skin 10 years younger [not realistic to expect that from a serum], but I’m pretty sure most will see visible results. In the long term, the serum acts as a firming and protective barrier for a longer youthful-looking skin.

REN Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift (15ml/£33) is from the same Instant Lift Range as the Beauty Shot serum. It comes in a cute little bottle with a pump. The Eye Lift has the same rose scent as the serum, but the consistency between the two products is different. The Eye Light is still a gel but is milky and much lighter.

Usually, I don’t expect much from eye creams. I trust that they are good at nourishing the undereye area and preventing it from dehydration and, therefore, aging too fast. However, this eye cream is something different. It goes right in, and like its brother, the Beauty Shot, visibly softens all those expression lines. I also hear that it’s extremely effective at reducing dark circles, but since I don’t have this problem myself at the moment, I can’t verify that.
