Have you heard of Éminence before? It’s a Hungarian organic skincare brand with products sold all around the world. I first learned about it on Nicole’s blog Live It, Love It, Green It and it went to my “I need to try this” list right away. Éminence truly stands out from many green beauty brands with its products looking so delicious they can easily be mistaken for a dessert. However, with the product ingredient lists pure and organic, it is a real treat for the skin.
The Calm Skin Starter Set* promises to balance and soothe even the most sensitive skin. The Set contains four products for a full one-month skincare regime:
*Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser (30 ml tube)
*Calm Skin Chamomile Moisturizer (15 ml tube)
*Calm Skin Arnica Masque (15 ml jar)
*Calm Skin Arnica Booster-Serum (15 ml bottle)
Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser and Calm Skin Chamomile Moisturizer
These two products come in a similar packaging: slim and simple tubes. The packaging is also very convenient for traveling since the tubes fit perfectly well in a permitted onboard cosmetics bag and do not take up much space. Because this line is created for sensitive skin, both products have the same gentle chamomile scent. Éminence claims to be fragrance-free for all of its products and only uses gentle essential oils to add scents and colors.
Chamomile Cleanser is a cream cleanser, that, to my surprise, is rather intense at cleansing. It’s not thick, which makes it easy to spread all over the face and to wash away. Éminence recommends using a cloth to remove the cleanser from the face. However, I find it easy to remove the cleanser with just water. Good news, it’s absolutely perfect for removing makeup. I did not get panda eyes, and it did not irritate my skin.
Chamomile Moisturizer has almost the same consistency as the cleanser. I expected it to be heavier, but it’s pretty lightweight and is more suitable for normal/combination sensitive skin types. I’d like to highlight two key ingredients – marigold and arnica, both of these plants are well known for their power in healing, strengthening, and calming sensitive or rosacea-prone skin.
Calm Skin Arnica Booster-Serum
Made with natural and organic plant ingredients, including rejuvenating rosehip extract, cooling and balancing peppermint tea, calming and healing arnica, calming and protective panthenol.
The serum looks like a gel in a bottle, but once applied on the skin it feels very watery and does not have any stickiness to it. A pea-size amount is more than enough for the whole face + neck. I loooove how the serum feels – like a wave of peppermint – soothing and hydrating. It gives my skin a little tingle, that’s peppermint tea boosting blood flow and soothing blood vessels.
Calm Skin Arnica Masque
Like the rest of the line, this mask was formulated with sensitive skin in mind and contains similar healing and calming ingredients. Also, it contains gentle white clay for extra cleansing. You’re supposed to leave the mask on your face for 5-10 minutes, but if your skin isn’t irritated and overreactive, you can extend the time to 15 minutes. You’ll immediately feel the cooling and calming effect. Then simply rinse the mask off or remove with a warm wet cloth. It makes my skin less tense and more soothed and even. I’m planning on taking it on holiday with me because flights dehydrate and exhaust the skin, so this mask will definitely be my number one weapon in making the skin fresh and calm again.
Eminence Calm Skin Starter Set is available online at Dermstore and Pharmaca for $56/£39 or at other Éminence retailers near you.
Have you tried Éminence products?
Uuu something for senstivie skin, they sound lovely! 🙂 xx
I have been using Eminence products for over a year now and I absolutely love it! They smell amazing and love when my esthetician tells me she’s putting all these calming healthy antioxidants on my face. This skin care line also works nicely with other natural products, for example, I apply organic pumpkin seed oil from an Australian company at night and then follow up with Eminence blueberry soy cream in the morning for extra hydration. I live in Nevada where it’s very dry so my routine must be nourishing.
