I love testing out new, unheard of natural beauty brands, and the most recent brand that I’ve been trying is Beauty By Earth – a fast-growing, US-based beauty company with “natural beauty products that work”. You know, time spent as a blogger has taught me a lot about taking slogans carefully, but this time, I agree 100%.
Clear Complexion Hydrating Face Mask*
This mask has been saving my skin from dryness and dullness. Titled as Beauty By Earth’s top-seller, this Clear Complexion Hydrating Face Mask lives up to its promises and, I must say, even tops them.
The packaging of this mask looks modest, but, if I remember correctly, it was recently updated to a more modern version. The consistency of the mask is very creamy, which makes it easy to spread onto the skin. Because it’s a clay mask (with kaolin and bentonite clay as main ingredients), it tends to dry quickly, so I like applying a much thicker layer of it rather than a thin layer. This way, I don’t need to continuously spray my face with water to avoid the mask drying out.
I like this mask for two reasons. First of all, it feels very cooling. Not tingly, but pleasantly refreshing with a cooling sensation. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all, there’s not even a tiny bit of redness after using it. On the contrary, my skin looks lovely – the pores are reduced, my skin looks brighter and evener. The second thing that I noticed, this mask does wonders in cleansing the skin without dehydrating it – I do have some clogged pores, so even after the first use many of blackheads were removed or in the process of elimination.
I can not think one thing that I didn’t like about this mask, maybe except the fact, there are no ingredient lists next to all products on Beauty By Earth website. This makes difficult for people to spot if a product they want to purchase is safe for them (for example, if it does not contain any ingredients they are allergic to or just trying to avoid). Other than that, this is hands down one of the best face masks I’ve tried.
Clear Complexion Hydrating Face Mask is available for $18.99/£15 for 120ml.
Facial Toner with Witch Hazel and Rose Petal Water*
Since a lot of brands use organic alcohol, made from wheat, as a preservative, sometimes it can be hard to find products that would not contain it. I know that many of you try to avoid alcohol as an ingredient in skincare and beauty products, so I’m happy to review this alcohol-free face toner for you.
This calming and hydrating toner with a mild rose scent (which comes from rose flower water) is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive. I don’t like spraying strongly scented products on my face, so it is perfect for me. The toner promises a cooling sensation, but I didn’t feel anything like it. However, it does make my skin feel comfortable, hydrated, and soft.
Facial Toner with Witch Hazel and Rose is available for $21.99/£18 for 120ml.
