Despite the fact, that I’m obsessed with beauty products, I keep my bedside table very minimal – one or two items are usually more than enough. However, the colder is the weather, the more beauty essentials I need to make my skin (and myself) comfortable and happy. I usually keep items, which I feel work really well or those, which I want to use up faster. Either way, I enjoy using each of them, because who would want to apply a product they don’t like during the relaxing time before going to sleep? Here are a few items that I’m currently keeping on by bedside table:
A BOOK
Not a beauty item, but a very important one. I’ve been a book nerd pretty much all my life so I can not imagine my bedside table without a book or any reading, regardless the season. Though nowadays I listen to audiobooks or read books on iPad more often than an actual paper. At the moment, I’m reading Tempting Fate by Jane Green. It was a gift from my lovely friend who is a fan of Jane Green and knows that I am too.
FACE MOISTURIZER
My skin tends to get dehydrated during winter, so to keep it intact I like to have a face moisturizer on hand. It doesn’t have to be rich and intense because then I wake up with puffy eyes in the morning, but it needs to be effective. At the moment, I use mini size Green People 24-Hour Brightening Cream, there’s only a little of it left, so I want to finish it up.
LIP BALM
Lip balm is one of those things that I can not imagine my life without. Sounds a bit dramatic, doesn’t it? But it’s actually not far from the truth. I drink a good amount of water during the day, yet my lips tend to get dry and, if I’m not careful, cracked. And there’s nothing pretty about cracked lips! I’m keeping this luxurious HENNE Lip Balm on my bedside table because it’s the most intensive lip balm I own at the moment. Even the tiniest amount of it makes my lips soft and lovely.
NIGHT SERUM
Having a night serum on my bedside table is another essential. It doesn’t have to say explicitly “night serum,” but it should be light, hydrating and, preferably, make my skin dewy in the morning (a girl can dream, right?). I used to have KYPRIS Antioxidant Dew, but I finished it a while ago, so True Nature Botanicals Night Serum with Retinol is a worthy new soldier.
HAND CREAM
I rarely use hand creams during the day, because my hands don’t need it. Maybe this is because I have a habit of moisturizing them every night before going to sleep. At the moment, I use EOS Everyday Hand Lotion in Berry Blossom. It probably wouldn’t be my first choice because it contains dimethicone as an ingredient, but I have received this hand lotion as a gift from my dear friend, so I don’t want it to go to waste. Also, it smells absolutely divine.
What items are on your bedside table?
lovely picks! I’ll have to check out that book! love the TN Botanicals Night Serum! if you want a good book series, The Magicians is awesome! I just finished it and posted a review on my blog if you’re curious ♥ http://storybookapothecary.com
The serum is great, isn’t it? I’m definitely going to read your review, thank you!

Lip balm and hand cream are probably my biggest bedside table essentials.
My bedside table is nowhere near as minimal as yours! I keep most of my skincare products there, but I definitely agree that a book, lip balm & hand cream are the key things. 🙂 x
