Trying to find a natural foundation that works well for your skin might bring you a headache. But once you discover the one, you stick with it and pray that none of its ingredients, texture, or anything else would be changed any time soon. This is exactly how my relationship with Madara CC Cream looks like. However, despite our strong bond, I enjoy exploring new options from time to time. Meaning, if there’s a product I’ve been wanting to try for some time, eventually, my curiosity will get the best of me, and I’ll break. That’s how I gave in and decided to try Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation*.
Ere Perez isn’t a new brand to me. I wrote a fair share of reviews about their other makeup products here, here, and here. The majority of these products left a remarkable impression on me, so the stakes were high for this foundation as well.
Let’s talk shades first. The Oat Milk Foundation comes in 6 shades:
– Latte (light porcelain skins)
– Honey (light skin)
– Chai (light to medium skin tones)
– Caramel (warm golden skin)
– Brew (medium to deeper skin tones)
– Mocha (deeper skin tones)
Having so few shades in the range is almost always a bad idea because it narrows down your consumer base a great deal, but I guess there’s a reason why so many brands still do this (although I can’t think of any). The shade I’ve got is Latte, which would be most suitable for fair cool-toned skin. My skin is very light; however, Latte is too light even for me. I’ve tried a sample of Honey, but although it’s a match on a shade level, unfortunately, it’s too warm-toned for my neutral skin. I’m not really upset, because I get even lighter in winter, so probably then Latte would be a match.
Despite my struggle with color matching, the foundation itself is an excellent product. It’s pretty thick and moisturizing, so its texture reminds me more of a BB cream rather than a foundation. However, its coverage is much better than a BB cream – medium to full. It’s super easy to apply and leaves the skin looking smooth and radiant. The only downside of this foundation is that I can feel it when touching my face. I don’t really mind it, but I’m letting you know in case you do.
The star ingredient in the Oat Milk Foundation is oat milk (duh), which is considered to have antioxidant, skin conditioning, and anti-inflammatory properties. There’s also peach extract, and vitamin E added to the list. What really stands out with this foundation is that it does not contain any oils, so there’s almost zero possibility for clogged pores. Yay! Overall, considering all of its benefits, it’s definitely worth a try.
Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation is available at Love Lula (with free worldwide delivery) and other Ere Perez stockists around the globe. The price is $42/£32 for 30ml.
