Though I love waking up as early as 6AM each morning, I would never consider calling myself an early bird. Which means, I enjoy my quiet early mornings a lot, but only after I manage to somehow crawl out of bed, force myself into the shower and have a reward – a hot cup of coffee while sitting in the dim morning light – afterward. This might sound painful, but I still do this every morning, because I feel more productive after I wake up early.
Though my biggest reward is probably getting some caffeine in my body, I find that using body care products that would make me actually look forward to taking a morning shower helps a ton as well. I need to enjoy this time, and currently, I’m doing this with this lovely shower duo: Seascape Island Apothecary Unwind Body Wash and MOA Hello Sunshine Energising Body Oil.
Seascape Island Apothecary Unwind Body Wash 300ml / $21 -£16
This baby came in one of LoveLula’s Beauty Boxes, which is really impressive considering its luxe pricing. All Seascape Island Apothecary packaging, including this product, is just absolutely adorable. It features a cute seahorse in floral print. The name “Unwind” suggests that the shower gel is more suitable for evening routine, but I couldn’t be bothered enough to use two separate shower gels. Also, I find that its soft herbal (yes, it’s lavender!) scent is delightful to use in the mornings. The body wash isn’t too foamy, but it cleanses well without drying my skin out.
MOA Hello Sunshine Energising Body Oil 150ml / $30 – £22.50
Oh boy, does this body oil guarantees to wake you up! Not only it has a powerful and stimulating scent of eucalyptus and lemongrass that instantly makes me feel like I’m instantly awake and ready for my day, but the oil also stimulates blood circulation and purifies the skin, so it’s especially beneficial if you have skin troubles such as acne. The oil is pretty light and absorbs quickly without leaving greasy cast, but the scent lingers a while after application, so be aware of that if you’re into gentler scents.
