Tabitha James Kraan Organic Hair Care

www.organicbeautyblogger.comBest things happen when you love and believe in something so much, it becomes the way of living. That’s the story behind Tabitha James Kraan: a professional hair artist, who believes that hair can thrive only when nurtured by nature, the owner of the organic hair salon in London, and a creator of award-winning natural hair care range named after her. A beautiful range, indeed. Besides being 100% pure and natural, all Tabitha James Kraan products come in attractive packaging that looks very chic and luxurious.

www.organicbeautyblogger.comThe haircare duo that I’ve tried is from the Golden Citrus line. It has a strong herbal scent that somehow feels therapeutic and calming. The smell is intense, but it doesn’t stay after rinsing the product out.

Golden Citrus Hair Cleanser* (60ml, travel-size)
It is very different from all the natural hair shampoos I’ve tried. Tabitha James Kraan says that it’s a not shampoo, but rather a hair cleanser, which helps the hair and scalp to balance itself. The cleanser is creamy and thick. It contains a lot of organic oils and extracts and only mild plant-derived foam boosters that protect the scalp instead of cleansing it of its natural oil. I found that the best way to use this is to wet my hair, rub the cleanser between my hands to make at least some lather and then apply it to my roots. It still doesn’t foam, but that way it doesn’t feel too oily and is much easier to rinse out. I read some reviews that for some people the cleanser still left hair looking greasy. I didn’t experience any greasiness, the hair was clean and healthy after using it, but I usually like more volume for my roots (personal choice), and since it’s a moisturizing and balancing cleanser, it didn’t give me any. Also, my hair got extremely greasy the next day. However, since this is a product that aims to re-balance your scalp’s natural oil production, you might need to use it regularly for some time before seeing good results.

Golden Citrus 4-in-1 Conditioner* (60ml, travel size)
A multitasking conditioner for all hair types. Infused with certified organic oils such as rosehip oil, argan oil, and coconut oil as well as essentials oils of neroli, tangerine, bergamot, and other. You can use this conditioner in 4 different ways:
As a rinse out – best for thin, oily hair types. It performs as a lightweight conditioner, which doesn’t give much moisture, but makes hair soft and adds some shine;
As leave-in on wet or dry hair – this is my favorite way to use this conditioner. It’s much more moisturizing and defrizzing this way, very happy with how it performs;
As a soothing and moisturizing scalp treatment – I have to admit that I haven’t tried it this way, but it would be an excellent treatment for anyone with dry and itchy scalp;
As a styling cream for curls.

See the ingredients:

Organic Golden Citrus Hair Cleanser & Organic 4-in-1 Conditioner are available online at Tabitha James Kraan (UK), Petit Vour (US) for $35/£22.50 for 150ml. I don’t recommend getting travel sizes since the hair needs some time to adjust to these products before any results can be seen.

www.organicbeautyblogger.comOrganic Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair* (15g, travel size)
I was very excited to try this particular product because I’ve seen many rave reviews about it. Although no dry shampoo can replace the feeling of clean, washed hair, this is a must-have item in every woman’s hair care stash. Especially, when you travel, don’t have enough time in the morning for a full hair wash or simply want to stop rinsing your hair every. single. day. (I had this problem some years ago, so trust me, I know the frustration).

Tabitha James Kraan dry shampoos are available in two formulas: Fair (for blonde/light hair) and Dark (for darker hair). I have the dry shampoo in color Dark, which is mixed with cacao to avoid the white cast that some dry shampoos leave on dark hair. Most important part of using this product is to not overdo it. It maybe seems like you couldn’t potentially add too much of it, but a little goes a long way with this product. So start with a tiny amount and work it through the hair by adding more if you see it’s necessary. Brush your hair really good after to get rid of any excess. It absorbs grease quickly, and my hair looks nice and clean afterward with a boost of volume (not too much, though).

The only thing I can complain about is that the pump gets stuck every time I try to use it, so it’s easier to just open the bottle itself and get the product out that way.

Vegan.

Dry shampoo goes for $29/£19 for 15g and is available here (UK) and here (US).
