It is going to be a very colorful post today! I haven’t been writing much about nail polish on the blog, probably because this is something I like to change often and it’s usually nothing that special. It’s much faster to snap a photo and share it on Instagram. Little Ondine, however, is a brand that I really wanted to share about with you. That’s because Little Ondine is as natural as nail polish can possibly be. The company uses natural resins, organic mineral pigments, and pure water. So all of its nail polishes are:
*safe to use for everyone, even moms-to-be or kids
*odor-free
*peel-able
*suitable for vegans
*cruelty-free
The odorless part is really exciting to me because even though I like wearing nail polish a lot, even 5-free or 7-free nail polishes stink when applied (sorry, but that’s true). Also, with water-based nail polish, you don’t need a nail polish removal, just peel it off and leave your nails clean and undamaged.
I’ve loved Little Ondine nail polishes since the moment they’ve arrived and worn them non-stop. The whole range has over twenty colors, including bright colors, pastels, neutrals, and base & top coat. The application of this nail polish is super easy. Because of a large, wide brush, it applies without streaks. I think it’s important to apply two coats (Little Ondine also recommends two coats) because one coat might not be enough for an easy peel-off and three coats can get messy and short-lasting. Little Ondine nail polishes dry EXTREMELY fast, so you have to work quickly; otherwise, they will get gloppy, and you’ll have to start again. Before trying them, I thought they’ll be short-lasting, but it turned out they last about two days without a base coat and three to four days with base & top. Pretty great, don’t you agree?
Here are few gorgeous colors:
Amazon* (10.5ml)
A vibrant, green color, which is a perfect choice if you’re tired of usual colors, like red, but want your nails to pop. It has a glossy finish, which looks beautiful. I noticed that green nail polish somehow always makes me feel happy and adventurous, and I feel the urge to do something fun when wearing this color!
Cherry Blossoms* (10.5ml)
A lovely muted pastel pink color with a glossy finish. Cherry Blossoms is my favorite color of the bunch! It’s such a girly color, but not overly cute and fluffy. I also added a photo so you could see how clean my nails look when I’m trying to peel off the nail polish and how easy it’s done.
Cuddle (discontinued)* 10.5ml / $12.99
A lovely brownish/orange-toned nude color. Cuddle gives the nails a subtle sheen with a little bit of color. I have to admit, this is my least used nail polish because I think this color would look much better on tanned skin. Being nude and all, it goes with any outfit, so it’s a fantastic choice for a neutral summer look.
Secret Top & Base Coat* (10.5ml)
Last, but not least is a top & base coat with a mysterious title – Secret. The purpose of this product is obvious, and that’s to keep Little Ondine nail polish chip-free a little bit longer than it would without a base. You can apply it as a base, as a top or both. I’ve tried it different ways and, in my opinion, the most effective ways were to use it as a base or as a base & coat. I also like using it as a clear nail polish, just to give my nails that healthy, shiny look. It looks somehow a little bit yellow-ish in the photo, but it applies as clear. Secret is even more fast-drying than Little Ondine nail polish, and you only need one coat of it.
Little Ondine is available at US website and UK site. Most of the products go for $12.99/£10, which, in my opinion, is a good price for a safe nail polish.
Have you tried Little Ondine or other water-based nail polish?
Interesting concept. The shades definitely look pretty.
Little Ondine calls its brand revolutionary and that’s pretty much true 🙂
I’ve been seeing these Little Ondie nail polishes everywhere lately! Come pay day I think I might have to order a few to try for myself. Always such positive reviews! xx

I can’t think of any cons 🙂 Which colors are you eyeing?
Super pretty! I am just not sure if i would like to do my manicure every few days. Currently i am loving 100% Pure nailpolishes, but maybe i will give Little Ondine a try 🙂
I haven’t tried 100% Pure nail polishes yet, how is the longevity? I also love SpaRitual nail polishes, they stay probably the longest on my nails, but they are not water-based, of course.
Sparitual is great as well! 100% Pure – maybe depends on the shade, but i would say they last 5 days without a problem, maybe even more, if you are careful with your hands 😀 My favorite is Velouria <3 But Tomato is beautiful as well.
I adore Little Ondine polishes! Agreed on that 2 coats are best, but I find some of the lighter pastel colours need 3 for coverage…all of these shades look really pretty, haven’t tried most of these yet 🙂

Me too, can’t wait to try more colors! Speaking about coverage, I think Cuddle is one of these colors that would look great with 3 coats, since it’s pretty sheer.
