I’ve mentioned many times on the blog that a natural state of my hair is dry and frizzy with oily roots. Not an easy task for hair products to solve. It also means that I prefer intensive hair treatments and serums, something that would give instant, visible results. This natural Antonin.B Desert Hair Serum packed with nourishing exotic oils sounded like something my hair would like a lot.
A classy black bottle with a dropper holds 20 ml of luxurious oil blend, which contains plants such as desert date, Brazil nut, kukui, broccoli, lemon, and more. All these ingredients together are the powerhouse to strengthening, smoothing, and boosting shine for the hair. It has a divine, sweet herbal scent, which is very pleasant.
There are two different ways to use the Desert Hair Serum and here’s what I thought of each:
*as a leave-in hair serum
If you have to deal with dry, frizzy hair on a daily basis, you know there’s nothing more desirable than a leave-in treatment that would make the hair smooth and glossy without weighing it down. Antonin B serum does the first part well by giving noticeable shine and gloss. But… There’s a “but” because even the smallest amount of it makes my hair greasy. I’ve tried all possible amounts but failed each time miserably. The packaging says that the serum is suitable for dry, damaged, color-treated, and chemically processed hair, so I would personally recommend it for someone who is in need of a very, VERY intense hair treatment and lost hope in ever finding one. Yes, it’s that intense, which is great because I know many girls who are looking for a hair serum that would help them tame and heal extremely damaged hair.
*as a deep rinse-out treatment
Another recommendation from Antonin.B is to use this serum as a rinse-out overnight treatment. Now that’s entirely another story. I haven’t tried to leave it on the hair overnight, but 2 hours were more than enough to see great results. Also, I used only half of the recommended amount for my below shoulder-length hair, so even though its price isn’t the lowest, it’s possible to use it sparingly. I ended up with defrizzed, nourished, and bouncy hair. Also, it looks straighter and shinier than usual, which is always welcome.
Antonin.B Desert Hair Serum with Ceramides is available here for $45/£36 for 20 ml.
Have you tried Antonin.B Desert Hair Serum?
I don’t use any hair treatments at the moment. I just wash and condition and that’s it, oops…
Then you have an even more minimalist hair care routine than me! 🙂
Yupppp, hehe.
Hi, thank you so much for this review!
Concerning the greasy feel, it does happen sometimes on dry hair. Strangely, drier hair sometimes needs more time to soak up the product. To alleviate that, the hair is slightly dampened and then the Serum is used.
Also, in the salon, for better absorption, the Serum is added on damp hair, before blow drying (2 to 3 drops). Optionally an extra drop is used afterwards, for extra shine.
Have a beautiful day, everyone! Thanks again Inga!
I haven’t tried using it on wet hair, so I’m definitely going to try that. Thank you!
I absolutely love using it as a rinse-out treatment, though, it really makes the hair hydrated and shiny.
